Marina Karban has worked in Executive Education since 2005, as the Director of Executive Education since 2015, responsible for sales, design and delivery of corporate programs segment, which has historically been a fundamentally important part of the school’s overall portfolio.

In 2020 she became the Head of the Educational Programs Unit as Associate Dean for Programs, focusing on providing unified approaches to methodology of programs design, setting up knowledge management system for programs initiation and development & performing departments’ management for the full range of programs.

Marina is passionate about learning new approaches used in business education in the world and integrating them to the Russian business practice.

Through exploring new directions, promoting innovative courses and formats, Marina has facilitated an expanding client base, which today includes leading national corporations from all major Russian industry sectors: Roskosmos (state space corporation), Multon (Coca-Cola division), Unilever, Rosseti (national grid), Rosatom (State Atomic Energy Corporation), Russian Railways Corporation RZhD ( transportation), VTB bank, Mobile TeleSystems OJSC (“MTS”), Rostelecom (telecommunication), SIBUR (gas processing and petrochemicals) and others.

In order to enhance the expertise of the School in the subject of digital transformation and Industry 4.0, Marina has initiated the development of the Center for Digital Transformation, aimed at accumulation, proliferation and integration of the topic in the programs.

Marina has contributed to the expansion of an international presence for the school via development of region-focused subdivisions like the China Unit. Karban has initiated development of academic partnerships, launching joint programs with such international business schools as IMD, IESE, and Yale School of Management.

Marina is a business education ambassador in Russia & CIS market as well as a reputable opinion-maker in the corporate HR Directors’ Club. She is frequently invited as an expert and a speaker on educational and business trends both in Russian conferences and abroad. Her top interest lies in the topics of Women’s leadership, Diversity and Personal transformation.

Prior to the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO, Marina Karban held the position of project manager in the Russian media holding RBC, which is responsible for organization of major industry-profile international conferences all over the world: in China, Sweden, South Africa, the Netherlands, the Cyprus and others.

For 10 years prior to that, Marina has held the position of Director of the Conference Department and Deputy Director of ITE Group Plc. (Britain). Via this work Marina gained multinational experience organizing large-scale international exhibitions and conferences such as MIOGE and KIOGE (oil and gas area), TRANSRUSSIA (transportation), MosBuild / BATIMAT (development & construction), MoscowInvest (investment) and others.

Marina has degrees in philology and pedagogics.
