A Note about the December 2015 Member Meeting
By Clark Callahan, Chair of the UNICON board for 2015-2016, and is Executive Director of Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College
Dear UNICON Colleagues,
I have thought a lot about the time many of us spent together in December at Kenan-Flagler’s beautiful campus in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Not surprisingly, the renowned US “southern hospitality” was in full force, matched only by the substance of the sessions.
There were some great “aha’s” from sessions I attended like Dave Roberts on the Performance Equation or Larry Murphy and his admonition to put the client first, and be purposeful in the language we use to describe our work. And of course the hundreds of informal interactions with many of you make a conference the great event that it is. And we are doing so much more virtually and online – there were four webinars already this year – with much more to come with an improved website ready to go live in March.
In the midst of uncertain times in the global economy – where many of us are long-standing players in an industry ripe for disruption – we need to learn and grow together, and I value UNICON and all of our collaborative efforts more than ever. Thanks for all you are doing to support these goals for UNICON.
In keeping with the theme of global presence and a global consortium, Porto Business School will host the Directors Conference in Portugal in April. I look forward to seeing director colleagues there, and others online!
