Bob Fair – 1925-2018

Bob died on February 9th at the age of 92.

Bob Fair was a member of the “Greatest Generation,” a highly decorated WW ll veteran, and one of the founders of UNICON. Bob was a graduate of the University of Virginia and in 1964 returned to direct the Management Programs at the Darden School.

Along with representatives from six other schools, he helped create and develop what is now UNICON.  They saw a need to share information and insights about this emerging industry, university-based executive education.   It’s interesting to note that the values, principles and organization these founding partners established in the mid-seventies still prevail.

Bob was greatly respected for his knowledge and executive talent, as well as his gracious manner.  He authored  “A Short History of the University Consortium for Executive Education“, covering the early years of the consortium from 1972 to 1989.  Bob was awarded the UNICON “Lifetime Achievement Award” in 2012 for his contributions to our industry and to UNICON.  Bob’s obituary may be found at:
