Jean-Paul Mounier Passes Away
Jean-Paul Mounier, a UNICON board member during the late 1990s, died Tuesday morning, March 3, 2020, in Pre du Lac, France (near Grasse), following a series of strokes over several years.
Despite his physical decline, Jean-Paul continued to show remarkable courage and diligence with his physical therapy program, and to manifest throughout wit, grace, charm, curiosity, and a true love of people and life.
Former UNICON board member Kenneth Bardach reports he last saw Jean-Paul in January of this year. Ken said Jean-Paul spoke fondly of his time with UNICON and the friends he had made there.
Ken said Jean-Paul was one-of-a-kind; he marched to his own drummer. He was courageous and a risk-taker throughout his career. In his late teens, Jean-Paul traveled with a friend 6-months by car from Paris to Afghanistan. Later, he traveled to northern Africa where he was befriended by a tribal king.
He shall be missed by close friends and family in France and around the world.
