“Pedagogical Innovation: Best Practices Through the Perspective of some Major Business Schools Around the World”

By Brazilian researchers Flávia Angeli Ghisi Nielsen, João Paulo Bittencourt, William A. Presada, Carolina Costa Cavalcanti, and Barbara Maionchi Berardo

This 18-month inquiry into Pedagogy Innovation shares best practices through the perspective of Executive Directors, deans and similar positions at eleven leading business schools worldwide.

The study found a lack of clarity about the concept of innovation, and few innovations in terms of teaching, learning and flexible learning.

But the study also found certain practices related with faculty development, especially in the area of learning design, have favored pedagogical innovation. The study stated “it became evident that learning innovation is promoted by the creation of new curricula, products and services and the connection between the Business School and companies (clients) for the continuing exchange of experiences and learning expectations.”
